In Crowthorne the key delivery areas are:
Provide, run and fund the Parish Office, two community halls (Morgan Centre and Parish Hall) and conference/meeting rooms - these halls are the lifeblood of numerous community-based groups, activities and pre-school education for groups such as Scottish dancing, tai chi, ballet, Stroke and Disabled Club, line dancing, WI, Crowthorne Amateur Theatrical Society (CATS), Crowthorne Musical Players (CMP), Crowthorne Village Pre School, National Childbirth Trust Bumps and Babies, Lacemakers, yoga, Brownies and Everyone Health. We also offer ad hoc booking for meeting, parties, etc.
Provide, run and fund the Morgan Recreation Ground and public toilets with its gym equipment, toddler play area, football pitch (Home ground for 4 teams including Pinewood FC and Silverbirch football teams) and hardcourt which is about to benefit from a £110,000 Community Infrastructure regeneration scheme with new netball, basketball and five aside courts/pitches, assault course, calisthenics bars. A walking running track installation is also in planning for delivery as part of the regen. scheme.
Plans, funds and delivers a vast range of community activities events including twice weekly community market, monthly Councillor surgery, annual summer of fun day, late night Christmas shopping and parish Christmas tree, Remembrance Day parade, Silver Sunday event and Coronation event for May 2023.
Extensive grant and charity work and funding, including providing over £18,000 of grant funding annually to numerous local groups and organisations such as Men’s Shed, South Hill Park Arts Centre, CAB, CATs, CMP, Home Start etc. Administers and provides funding and trustees to the Circle Hill & Walter Rec. Charity as well as administration and grants for the Crowthorne Educational Charity for local individuals and education settings and budget to the Morgan Rec. Charity . More recently provides detached youth work via a Community Safety Fund grant from November 2022 until March 2025.
Stakeholder work with Bracknell Forest Council on many projects particularly economic regeneration schemes. Community engagements with, Royal Berks Fire and Rescue for activities such as the detached youth work, Winter Wellness hubs, Christmas tree and Coronation event; as well as regular cross border work with Wokingham Borough and Wokingham Without Parish Council organising and running the Crowthorne Community Neighbourhood Action Group and Crowthorne Community Awards, with Crowthorne Village Action Group and Broadmoor via LESG group, cross border work with Wokingham Borough and Wokingham Without Parish Council organising and running the Crowthorne Community Neighbourhood Action Group and Crowthorne Community Awards.
Provide the strategic direction with areas that the Parish Council has the mandate to deliver under the crowthorne Neighbourhood Plan and Three year Strategic plan with air quality and environmental projects including EV charging at the Morgan Rec., solar panel installation at both community halls, flower towers and hanging baskets in the parish; upgrades and refurbishment of leisure and recreations facilities such as the games areas at the Morgan rec.
